Chinese Ambassador Zou Xiaoli Meets with Leaders of Greek Local Government Organization and Business Organizations

On 3 November, Chinese Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met at his residence with leaders of Greek local government organization and business organizations, Mr. Ilias Psinakis, President of Amphictyony of Ancient Greek Cities and Mayor of Marathon, Mr.Theodore Fessas and Mr. Konstantinos Bitsios, Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, Mr. Constantine Michalos, President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy Zhou Ruojun was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zou said that the China-Greece relations maintained a good momentum of development currently. With the influence of the COSCO Piraeus Port Project, Chinese local authorities and enterprises advanced their interests and confidence to conduct cooperation with Greece. The 1st Chinese-Hellenic Cities Forum would be held in Athens on 11 November, aiming to strengthen the exchanges between the local authorities of two countries in the fields of economy and trade, culture, tourism, education, etc., and establish a platform for win-win cooperation. He hoped that the leaders of Greek local government organization and business organizations would play an important role in promoting the development of China-Greece relations and contributing to the pragmatic cooperation between two countries.

Greek guests expressed their gratitude towards the Chinese Embassy in Greece for its important role in enhancing the China-Greece cooperation and the establishment of Chinese-Hellenic Cities Forum. They addressed that they would seize the opportunity to step up exchanges between their organizations and Chinese side, and make consistent efforts to set up a platform to enlarge mutual cooperation.

Ambassador Zou also exchanged views with them about some cooperation projects of common concern.
