On October 29, 2016, the Chinese Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met in the Embassy in Athens with the Delegation of the Anhui Provincial People's Congress, headed by Vice Chairman Mr. Liang Weiguo.

Ambassador Zou briefed the Delegation on the current situation in Greece and on the bilateral relations. He noticed that this year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Greece. The successful acquisition of PPA by Cosco Shipping has attracted more and more chinese investments in Greece. On November 11, the first Chinese-Hellenic Cities Forum will take place in Athens, with a target of building a platform of exchanges between municipalities of the two countries. The following year will be the year of Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation in Cultural Industry. Ambassador Zou wished that Anhui would make the outmost use of the competitive advantages of the Province and actively take part in the economical,commercial and cultural exchanges between the two countries, in order to contribute to the further development of the bilateral relations.

Vice Chairman Liang mentioned that during this visit in Greece, they received the friendly feelings of the Greek people. Anhui will accelerate the implementation of the twinning with South Aegean Region, in order to further advance the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. The Delegation offered a traditional theatrical costume of the local Huangmei Opera, with request of delivering it to the Municipality of Elefsina for the Aischylia Festival. Ambassador Zou welcomed the Huangmei Opera to take part in the next year's Aischylia Festival.
