On September 13, Chinese Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met in the Embassy with Mr. Kolokotsas, mayor of Zakinthos, who was about to go to Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, for the 2016 International Island Tourism Conference.

Zou said that the island of Zakinthos has picturesque scenery and attracts more and more Chinese tourists. He hoped that Mr. Kolokotsas would take the good opportunity of the Conference in China to give more publicity to Zakinthos, step up exchanges and communication with the Chinese side and push bilateral tourism cooperation to a new step. Ambassador Zou promised whole-hearted support of the Chinese Embassy.

Mr. Kolokotsas said that he was very glad to have the chance to attend the Conference. He hoped he would make the best use of this window to increase mutual understanding with China and attract more Chinese tourists and investment for Zakinthos. He expressed his gratitude for the long-term support and help from the Chinese Embassy. He hoped to continue the close ties with the Chinese Embassy to promote bilateral exchanges in tourism, culture, trade, investment, and other areas.
