On January 25, 2018, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met with the Mayor of Zakynthos, Mr. Pavlos Kolokotsas, at the Ambassador's residence.
The Mayor informed the Ambassador about contacts between the Municipality of Zakynthos and China, and plans regarding local infrastructure and construction projects. He also invited the Chinese to visit Zakynthos for their vacations, and called on Chinese enterprises to invest in the island. Ambassador Zou dwelled on the fact that the launch of the direct flight connection between Beijing to Athens has made Zakynthos one of the most popular destinations among Chinese tourists, while heightening the island's infrastructural needs. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Greece will encourage Chinese enterprises to participate in future construction projects, thereby strengthening Sino-Greek cooperation and deriving mutual benefit. |
