2008-10-22 04:24

The 2008 HSK was held in Athens on October 18th. Chinese Ambassador Luo Linquan visited the candidates for the test at the examination room.

Mr. Luo Linquan expressed best wishes for all the candidates and congratulated Greece-China Association on holding the 2008 HSK. He said, since China and Greece represent the ancient civilizations of the East and the West respectively, developing friendly relationship between the two countries has sound historical foundation and is of practical significance. For the Greek friends, mastering the Chinese language not only will help them in their future career, but also give them the advantage to play a bigger role in promoting China-Greece relations. Mr. Luo encouraged the candidates to continue their study after the basic stage of  learning and constantly improve their Chinese proficiency.

The candidates applauded the remarks by Ambassador Luo Linquan and expressed their will to achieve good performance in HSK. A female student said to Mr. Luo in Chinese that although Chinese was difficult to learn, she was keen on  Chinese language and culture and confident of mastering Chinese.

This year's HSK was organized by Greece-China Association. The test was divided into two levels: the basic level and the junior-medium level. Altogether 80 candidates from different parts of Greece took part in the test.
