Ambassador Zou Xiaoli meets with the Mayor of Marathon Ilias Psinakis
2017-11-04 04:08
On November 8, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met with Ilias Psinakis, Coordinator of the Chinese-Greek Cities Forum, President of the Amphictyony of Ancient Greek Cities, and Mayor of Marathon.
Ambassador Zou Xiaoli said that since the first meeting of the Chinese-Greek Cities Forum in Athens last year, exchanges between the two countries have continued to deepen and expand. This year in May, Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras attended the second meeting of the Forum, which was held in Beijing, and gave a speech. This Forum has become an important platform for China and Greece to further develop exchanges and cooperation at the level of local governments. Both sides should continue to enhance the Forum's influence, seeking to render it more efficient and practical, and promote Sino-Greek cooperation to achieve richer results for the benefit of the two peoples.
Mayor Psinakis emphasized that, just like the dynamism of Sino-Greek cooperation, the number of members in the Amphictyony of Ancient Greek Cities is constantly growing. The Amphictyony will remain in contact with the Chinese side, coordinating its plans, contributing to the improvement of the Chinese-Greek Cities Forum, and finding innovative ways to promote local exchanges between the two countries, thus making significant contributions for the further development of Sino-Greek relations.
