Ambassador Zou Xiaoli Meets with Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports Delegation

On November 14, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met with Deputy Director-General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sports Yang Haibin and his delegation.

Ambassador Zou briefed the delegation on the recent China-Greece relations by saying that the 1st Chinese-Hellenic Cities Forum that was recently convened in Athens was a full success in building an important platform for China-Greece exchanges and cooperation at local level and has received positive responses from both the two countries. As the origin of the Olympic games and Marathon race, Greece has its unique sports and cultural resources. Therefore, Beijing could fully exert its own advantages and expand exchanges and cooperation with the Greek side in the fields of Olympic games, Marathon race and soccer etc. He also hoped Beijing could participate next year in the China-Greece Cultural Exchanges and Cultural Industry Cooperation Year and the Thessaloniki International Fair for which China will be the country of honor. He said that the Chinese Embassy in Greece would like to offer any necessary assistance in this regard.

Deputy Director-General Yang Haibin thanked Ambassador Zou for his suggestions on Beijing's cooperation with the Greek side. He briefed on Beijing's sports development and its foreign exchanges, and said that they are willing to keep contact with the Greek side to promote the exchanges and industrial cooperation between the two sides to achieve concrete fruits.
