Ambassador Zou Xiaoli Meets with Delegation of Fujian Province

On October 20, 2016, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met with a delegation of Fujian Province, headed by its Deputy Governor Hong Jiexu.

Ambassador Zou briefed the delegation on the current situation in Greece and China-Greece's relationship. He pointed out this year marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Greece. The success of Cosco in the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) privatization has attracted more and more Chinese enterprises to invest in Greece. As the conjunction of the Maritime Silk Road and Land Silk Road, Greece can play an important role in One Belt, One Road initiative. 2017 is the year of China-Greece cultural exchange and cultural industry cooperation and China will serve as the guest of honor in 2017 Thessaloniki International Expo. Zou hoped that Fujian would make full use of its advantages and strengthen ties with Greece in shipbuilding, marine economy, island tourism and agriculture, carrying out pragmatic cooperation.

Deputy Governor Hong said Fujian was a large marine province, abundant in marine resources. The Fujian government would like actively guide enterprises in the province to cooperate and exchange with the relevant Greek side in the tourism, trade, industry, culture and other fields.

Economic and Commercial Counselor Zhou Ruojun was present in the meeting.
