2016-04-11 04:10

On April 7, Chinese Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met at the Maximos Mansion Minister of State Nikos Pappas. The two sides had in-depth exchange of views on China-Greece relations and cooperation in various areas.

Minister Pappas said that it is a strategic choice of the Greek government that Taiped and COSCO Shipping are going to sign agreements on the transfer of majority stake of PPA. Greece is ready to work with China to build the Port of Piraeus into an important hub in the international trading system.
Greece welcomes more Chinese businesses to Greece to continuously strengthen practical cooperation in trade, railway, ship-building, finance, innovation, and tourism, and to promote common economic development of the two countries.

Ambassador Zou said that the COSCO Piraeus Port project is a fine example of win-win cooperation. He believed that the agreements for the transfer of majority stake of PPA will become a new starting point for friendly cooperation between China and Greece and for regional development. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Greece. The two sides will take the opportunity of the Piraeus Port project to continuously enhance mutual understanding and trust, expand and deepen cooperation in various areas, upgrade the level of China-Greece relations, and bring benefit to the two countries and two peoples.
