On October 12, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met at his residence with a delegation of the National Center for Underwater Cultural Heritage Protection of China led by its Director Mr. Chai Xiaoming. Ambassador briefed Mr. Chai on the current situation in Greece and China-Greece relations. He pointed out the importance of bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of underwater cultural heritage protection for increasing mutual understanding and friendship. He expressed the willingness of the Chinese Embassy to offer support in related areas. Mr. Chai pointed out that China and Greece enjoy comparative advantages in underwater cultural heritage protection. He said that the purpose of his visit was to establish contact with Greek counterpart to explore ways for strengthening exchanges and cooperation. During the visit, Mr. Chai and his delegation was received by Mr. Aristidis Baltas, Minister of Culture of the Hellenic Republic. Ms. Simosi, President of the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities of Greece met with the Chinese delegation and accompanied it to visit underwater archaeological sites. Mr. Xiao Yewen, Political Councilor and Mr. Zhang Zhan, Cultural Attaché of the Chinese Embassy, attended relevant activities. |
