On October 14, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli met with Mr. George Stathakis, Minister of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism of the Hellenic Republic at the latter's ministry. Ambassador Zou congratulated Minister Stathakis on his assumption of office as economic minister and expressed the willingness of the Chinese Embassy to keep close contact with his ministry so as to promote new progress in bilateral economic cooperation. He also expressed the wish that the Greek government take more positive policies to attract foreign investment and create more favourable conditions for the operation and development of foreign businesses in Greece.

Minister Stathakis briefed the ambassador on the current economic and financial situation as well as reform plans of Greece and welcomed more Chinese businesses to come to Greece for investment and development.
