Ambassador Zou Xiaoli Meets with President of Beijing Foreign Studies University

On September 8, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli called upon Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis of the caretaker government.

Ambassador Zou congratulated Minister Molyviatis upon his assumption of office as foreign minister of the caretaker government and conveyed to him greetings from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Ambassador Zou stressed that to maintain sustained and sound development of China-Greece relations conforms to the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples, and is needed for safeguarding regional peace and stability. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with the Greek side to deal with challenges and facilitate new progress in bilateral cooperation in various areas.

Molyviatis asked Ambassador Zou to convey his sound wishes to Foreign Minister Wang Yi, saying that it is a foreign policy priority of successive Greek governments to develop relations with China. The Foreign Ministry of the Hellenic Republic will continue to play a coordinating role to push forward bilateral relations and practical cooperation in various areas.

Minister Molyviatis highly appreciates the donation of 200,000 Euros worth of materials by the Chinese community and Chinese companies in Greece to properly settle refugees from the Middle East, believing that it reflects the spirit of internationalism and Greece-China friendship.
