On September 1, Ambassador Zou Xiaoli visited the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia, and held friendly talks with Mr. Dionyssis Gangas, Director of the International Olympic Academy.

Mr. Gangas briefed Ambassador Zou on the history and functions of the Academy, and expressed the willingness to strengthen cooperation in the areas of Olympic education and culture.

Ambassador Zou said that he was inspired by the visit to the International Olympic Academy. The contribution of China to the international Olympic Games should not only be reflected in the successful holding of the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2022 Winter Olympics, but also, and more importantly, in the relentless efforts to promote Olympic culture and education and advocate the Olympic spirit. The Chinese Embassy in Greece is ready to serve as a bridge between the Academy and relevant agencies in China to make new contribution to the international Olympic movement.
