Xi Jinping Exchanges Congratulatory Messages with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Russia

On October 2, 2024, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Russian President Vladimir Putin to warmly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping noted that China and Russia, both major countries of the world and key emerging markets, are each other's largest neighbor. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 75 years ago, the two sides have continuously upgraded bilateral relations based on the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples while profoundly taking stock of historical experience, and lasting good-neighborliness, comprehensive strategic coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation have become the most essential features of bilateral relations. Since the beginning of the new era in particular, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin and in the face of profound changes unseen in a century, the two sides have continued to deepen political mutual trust, achieved remarkable results in practical cooperation, and won deep support for enduring friendship, making important contributions to improving the well-being of the two peoples and to promoting an equal and orderly multi-polar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

Xi Jinping stressed that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Russia relations, and stands ready to work with President Vladimir Putin to take the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to firmly steer bilateral relations in the right direction, continue to expand China-Russia all-round practical cooperation, jointly advance high-quality development and modernization of the two countries, so as to make new contributions to safeguarding world peace and stability and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Vladimir Putin extended his most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. Three-quarters of a century ago, his country was the first in the world to recognize the People's Republic of China (PRC) and quickly established close collaborative relations with the PRC. The close and mutually beneficial relations between Russia and China have successfully stood the test of time. At present, Russia-China relations have reached their highest level in history. The two sides have actively carried out cooperation in politics, economy and trade, science and technology, as well as in other fields, coordinated efficiently in international and regional affairs, and worked together to build a just multi-polar world order. Vladimir Putin expressed his belief that the two sides will fully implement the series of common understandings reached during his meetings with President Xi Jinping, and further consolidate the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, so as to promote security and stability on the Eurasian continent and beyond.
