On June 7, 2024, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Li Xi met with Special Envoy of Cuban President and Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla in Beijing.

Li Xi said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Miguel Díaz-Canel, the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future continues to deepen and solidify. China and Cuba are good friends, good comrades, and good brothers who stick together through thick and thin. China will continue to support Cuba in pursuing a socialist path that suits its national conditions and defending its state sovereignty and national dignity. China is willing to deepen political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation and strengthen strategic coordination with Cuba for new developments in the special friendly relations between the two parties and between the two countries. Li Xi also introduced General Secretary Xi Jinping's crucial ideas on the Party's self-reform, and the work of the full and strict governance over the Party and anti-corruption.

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla expressed gratitude for China's strong support for the just cause of Cuba, and said that Cuba firmly abides by the one-China principle and will steadfastly deepen its friendship with China and resolutely defend the socialist cause.
