Peng Liyuan Chats over Tea with Constancia Mangue de Obiang, Wife of the Equatorial Guinean President

On the afternoon of May 28, 2024, Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping, chatted over tea in Beijing with Constancia Mangue de Obiang, wife of the President of Equatorial Guinea, who accompanied President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on his state visit to China.

Peng Liyuan applauded Constancia Mangue de Obiang's enthusiastic participation in social welfare programs, active support for women's entrepreneurship, and long-term commitment to education, medical and health work. Describing China and Equatorial Guinea as good friends and partners who have stood together through thick and thin, Peng Liyuan expressed the hope that the two sides will carry out more exchanges and cooperation, and work jointly to safeguard and promote women's rights and interests, and enhance the level of education and public health to the benefit of the two peoples.

Constancia Mangue de Obiang briefed Peng Liyuan on the work Equatorial Guinea has done in promoting women's employment, youth education, assistance for people with disabilities, and other fields, and spoke highly of the long-term care and attention extended by the Chinese side, particularly Mme. Peng Liyuan, to women and children in African countries, including Equatorial Guinea, and the contributions to improving their health and well-being. She looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side to enhance the friendship between the two countries.
