On June 9, 2022, President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out, China and Georgia are traditional partners of friendly cooperation. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 30 years ago, the two sides have made solid progress in cooperation in various fields, conducted effective communication and coordination in international affairs and promoted the sound and steady development of bilateral relations. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the people of the two countries have helped each other overcome difficulties in good faith, leaving a touching story of fighting the pandemic with solidarity.

Xi Jinping stressed that I attach great importance to the development of China-Georgia relations and stand ready to work with President Zourabichvili to take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to push for more achievements in bilateral ties and cooperation in various areas for the benefit of the two countries and the two peoples.

Zourabichvili said, Georgia is actively committed to developing friendly relations with China and is ready to work with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and promote the common prosperity of the two countries.
