Li Keqiang Meets with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia

On the morning of March 17, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, who was on a state visit to China.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Saudi Arabia enjoy a solid foundation of political mutual trust and achieve substantial outcomes from practical cooperation. Yesterday, President Xi Jinping and His Majesty held fruitful talks. China respects all countries' choices of development path in accordance with their own national conditions and supports Saudi Arabia's efforts in maintaining its national stability. China is willing to, together with Saudi Arabia, consolidate mutual trust, deeply align development strategies, well implement production capacity cooperation in key areas, explore new space for energy and high technology cooperation, and strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs, so as to push China-Saudi Arabia relations and cooperation in various fields for new progress.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the economic development and improvement of people's livelihood need a peaceful and stable environment. As global political and economic uncertainties and instabilities are still prominent, China is ready to strengthen cooperation with all countries including Saudi Arabia to cope with various risks and challenges with stability, safeguard world peace and stability, and promote development and cooperation.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said that Saudi Arabia and China enjoy a long-standing friendship and reach extensive consensus in practical cooperation. Saudi Arabia is full of confidence in the prospects of bilateral cooperation, and hopes to continue to give play to the role of the Saudi Arabia-China high level committee, reinforce practical cooperation in various fields, and jointly cope with the threats of terrorism and extremist forces, so as to better safeguard regional and world peace and stability.
