Yang Jiechi Meets with Governor of Maharashtra Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao of India

On September 16, 2016, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met in Mumbai with Governor of Maharashtra State Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao of India.

Yang Jiechi expressed that at present, China and India are stepping toward building a closer development partnership, and communication as well as cooperation in various fields between the two countries are increasingly deepened. The cooperation between China and Maharashtra State has presented a multi-field, high-level and positive momentum. China is willing to further deepen cooperation in such areas as high technology, information industry and tackling climate change with Maharashtra State, so as to realize advantage complementarity and mutual benefit and win-win result. It is hoped that Maharashtra State could continue to give play to its unique advantages, offer more convenient administrative services and sound legal safeguard to Chinese enterprises, create a favorable business environment and play a demonstration role for expanding practical cooperation between the two countries.

Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao said that as the second largest state of India, Maharashtra State is also one of India's most active region in terms of economic development. The current India-China relations enjoy a sound development and local cooperation between the two countries is continuously deepening. Maharashtra State stands ready to seize opportunities to further enhance economic and trade exchanges as well as people-to-people and cultural communication with China, so as to make greater contributions to the development of India-China relations.
