At present, the COVID-19 pandemic is still very severe. Due to the high risk of cross-infection during international travel, passengers are kindly advised to follow the principle of no travel for non-essential or non-urgent reasons. To further reduce the risk of cross-border spread of the pandemic, starting from 22 February, the Chinese Embassy in Greece will no longer issue Green Health Code to transit passengers bound for China. Relevant requirements are as follows

I. Passengers flying from Greece to China mainland for essential reasons are required to take direct flights rather than transit flights via a third country or region.

II. For passengers flying from other countries to China, please avoid transiting via Athens. Currently, there is only one flight per week from Greece to China, of which the entry point is Beijing. According to regulations of Beijing, only Greek citizens and Chinese who live in Greece can take the direct flight to Beijing.

III. Important Information

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Any falsification or alteration of the test certificates may cause the application or boarding to be rejected and even bring about legal liabilities on the part of the applicants.

After completing the required tests, please stay quarantined at home and take personal protection to avoid infection before boarding. If you find yourself have symptoms of Covid-19 like fever, cough, please follow the Greek government guidelines to get medical care and reschedule your trip to China.
