In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from November 8th, 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers who are to fly from Greece to China will be required to take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests within 48 hours prior to their departure and only those who test negative will be allowed to board the plane.

I.Test requirements

Passengers going to China from Greece via direct flights must take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests in Greece within 48 hours before boarding. They must take the tests at a medical institution designated by Chinese Embassy in Greece and then apply for a green health codes with the "HS" mark or certified health declaration forms with certificates of negative results of both tests.

Passengers going to China from Greece via connecting flights in other countries must take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests in Greece within 48 hours before boarding their flight to the transit country and then take both tests again in the transit country within 48 hours before boarding the flight to China. Passengers must apply at Chinese Embassy in Greece and Chinese Embassies/Consulates in the transit country for green health codes with the "HS" mark or certified health declaration forms with certificates of negative results of both tests.

Passengers going to China from other countries by way of Greek airports must take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests in the country of first departure within 48 hours before boarding their flight to Greece and then take both tests again in Greece within 48 hours before boarding the flight to China. Passengers must apply at Chinese Embassies/Consulates in the country of first departure and Chinese Embassy in Greece for green health codes with the "HS" mark or certified health declaration forms with certificates of negative results of both tests.

Since there is no quick test service in the transit areas in all Greek international airports, please check the entry regulations of Greek government first and make sure that you can enter Greece before choosing to fly by way of Greece to China. If you can enter Greece, please make sure that you have enough time to complete tests in Greece. It usually takes 24 hour to get the test results.

Currently, there are two flights every week from Greece to China. The final destination of the flight on every Wednesday is Chengdu. The final destination of the flight on every Saturday is Beijing. According to regulations of Beijing, only Greek citizens and Chinese who live in Greece can take the direct flight to Beijing. Passengers from other countries should avoid choosing the flight on Saturday.

II. Procedures for foreign passengers to apply for certified health declaration forms at Chinese Embassy in Greece

1. Take a nucleic acid test and IgM anti-body blood tests at one of the Greek clinics designated by Chinese Embassy. The tests should be completed within 48 hours (starting from the time of taking samples, instead of the time of report issuance) before boarding. Please provide the clinics with your ID documents and agree to let them send your test reports to Chinese Embassy at hsm67b@gmail.com.

2. Download and fill in the Health Declaration Form that can be found on the Embassy's website (http://gr.chineseembassy.org/eng/lsqw/xgcl/).

3. Send the scanned copies of their negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests results along with their passport information page and the signed Health Declaration Form to Chinese Embassy by email at hsm67b@gmail.com. The above documents should be sent within 24 hours after getting the negative test results.

4. Get the stamped Health Declaration Form by email and present it to airline crew before boarding.

III. Important Information

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Failure to obtain the certified health declaration form with negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests results means you will be refused to board the flight to China and will have to change your itinerary.

If you must go to China via connecting flights, please check the transit country's entry regulations and its nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests requirements beforehand. Failure to enter the transit country or meet the requirements regarding the tests, the green code or certified health declaration form could result in being stranded and heightened infection risks.
