With the approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Air China will resume direct flights from Athens to Beijing from July 27, 2022, with the entry point being Chengdu. In order to facilitate passengers to take Air China direct flights to return to China, the relevant matters are hereby reminded as follows:

    1. At present, the global COVID-19 pandemic is still severe. The new variant of Omicron has a wide spread and strong infectivity. European countries are facing a new round of epidemic impact. Please consider the travel risks under the epidemic, passengers are kindly advised to follow the principle of no travel for non-essential or non-urgent reasons.

    2. If you really need to travel to China, please take a "double PCR tests" within 48 hours before boarding as required, and apply for a health code through https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/h5/ as soon as possible after obtaining  negative reports. For the requirements, please refer to the "Notice on the application for health code requirements for people from Greece to China (Updated on June 30th)". Before boarding, please cooperate with Air China to check the health code and other materials and take your temperature.

    3. Please take personal protection when going out for PCR test. After the tests are completed, please strictly implement self quarantine before boarding, do not go to public places for dinner, visit places where people gather, and try not to take public transportation. When checking in at the airport, you should wear an N95 mask and maintain a safe social distance. During the flight, try to avoid taking off the mask, reduce lateral contact, and reduce the risk of infection on the plane.

    4. After the flight arrives at the destination, please cooperate with the point of entry for testing and quarantine. According to Chengdu's requirements for the prevention and control of the covid-19, inbound personnel are required to accept the management measures of "7-day centralized quarantine at hotel + 3-day health monitoring at home". After the quarantine and monitoring period expires, if you plan to return to Beijing according to the original itinerary, you can contact Air China in advance to reserve seats on subsequent flights.

    The resumption of Air China's direct flights is not easy. The Chinese Embassy in Greece hereby calls on all travelers to China to cherish the convenience brought by direct flights, take responsibility for your own health and the health of others, strictly abide by various requirements, and effectively prevent personal infection, to reduce the importation of the infected cases, and jointly maintain the safety and smoothness of direct flights between China and Greece.
